My Journey

My love for bourbon runs much deeper than just the taste of the glorious brown spirit.  Walking the grounds of a distillery, learning the differences every distillery possesses, and hearing each story the company has to tell, adds so much more depth to the enjoyment of the pour.  Those stories are unique to each distillery and keep me hungry to find out the beauty in every brand.   When history or personal reports connect me with a bottle, I can appreciate that whiskey even more. The history with the old distilleries and the good ole entrepreneurial grit of the new, is unmatched in today’s society.

I want to experience every distillery in the state of Kentucky.  I want to smell every fermenting tank, walk into every rickhouse, and listen to as many stories as people are willing to tell.

I am setting a goal to visit every single whiskey distillery in my beloved state of Kentucky. During this journey my desire is to expand my knowledge and learn from the people who know bourbon best.  I want to make my journey public, so I am held accountable in my travels. As most people, I let life get in the way, but with the help of you I can make sure I finish this quest. I will be documenting my journey and sharing updates as I go, so you get to experience everything along with me. My hope is that you will, in turn, want to experience it for yourself. My hope is to expand bourbon travel for those who haven’t really considered visiting a distillery or who are just a casual traveler.  I want people to understand what they’re missing out on.  Because this is history. It’s apart of the United States.  You can not make bourbon anywhere else in the world.  Sure, it can be made in other states, but Kentucky, to me, is the ideal place for it. And I want to experience it, all of it.

I will update a list here on how my journey is going. Check back often for updates and even maybe some new distilleries will pop up on this list.  If you own a distillery and would like me to visit, please reach out.  If you don’t see a distillery location on the list, let me know and I’ll add it.  I don’t want to miss a single one!

I hope you look forward to taking this journey with me.  It’s going to be a lot of work, but I kno
